Mayyil Teacher Training Institute was established in 2004. It is run by Hira Charitable trust, Mayyil. Located in rural ambience of Pavannurmotta, 3kms away from Mayyil, the institution has an added advantage of having quiet, serene and congenial atmosphere, ideal for intellectual pursuit. Mayyil Teacher Training Institute trains the students in Diploma in Elementary Education (D El Ed) which is affiliated to NCTE. The National Council for Teacher Education as a statutory body came into existence in pursuance of the National Council for Teacher Education Act, 1993 (No. 73 of 1993) on the 17th August,1995.
